Preparing for our trip!

Hey everyone,

With only 9 days left until we leave for Belize, we are starting to prepare for what needs to go into our suitcase!! We get one checked bag up to 50 lbs, one carry on, and one personal item.



Some of the items include:

  • Deet 40 bug spray, 1 large and 1 mini
  • Rain boots
  • Battery operated alarm clock small
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Gloves
  • Otoscope
  • Sunscreen
  • Daily bag
  • Sturdy flip flops

  • Swim suit
  • Waterproof bag
  • Clothes
  • Scrubs 
  • Hat/visor 
  • Phone call card
  • Hydrocortisone cream
  • Antidiarrheal medicine
  • Bandaids
  • Triple antibiotic ointment

It's actually pretty fun getting all of this stuff together. I have a checklist made so that I don't forget anything when I leave the airport at 6 am!!! 

They also want us to ask for donations of medical supplies to bring for the people in town. 

Such as: 
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Soap

Analgesics anti-inflammatory for children
  • Acetaminophen syrup and drops
  • Ibuprofen syrup

Anti-histaminics anti Allergy

  • Benadryl syrup for children
  • Loratadine
  • Cetirizine

Cough/cold

  • Cough syrups such as Dimetapp, Robitussin

Vaginal infection ovules or treatments (miconazol, Monistat, Nistatin, Metronidazol)


Skin
  • Lice medication (cream or shampoo)
  • Scabies cream (lindane),
  • Antifungal cream,
  • Triple antibiotic in cream
  • Lamisil

Vitamins
  • Children’s vitamins, 
  • Adult's vitamins
  • Calcium plus Vitamin D pills, 
  • Iron drops for children's, 
  • Folic acid
  • Iron (ferrous sulphate) for adults
  • Complex B
  • Vitamin C

  • Surgical gloves – all sizes
  • Masks
  • Urine analysis strips
  • Strips for glucometers brands: Accu-check or Free style ONLY
  • Alcohol swaps
